Will of Thomas Webb Smith 1783-1835

Smiths Parish,Bermuda

I Thomas W. Smith of Smith's Parish in the Islands of Bermuda,Shipwright,being of sound mind and perfect mind andmemory-considering the uncertainty of this life,do make,ordain and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following-that is to say:-

First:I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Rebecca-for her own use and enjoyment,with my Children,the benefit and profits of all and singular my Real and Personal Estates,as hereinafter described-orotherwise-wheresoever situate or being-with all the productions arising

therefrom-and so to continue as long as my said Wife lives and remains my Widow:-but in the event of her Death or Marraige-I then give,devise and bequeath my said Real and Personal Estates after the following manner:-

2nd viz:I give over and resign to my grandson Thomas Isaac Smith,as lawful Heir Apparent the possession,use and enjoyment of my Fee_ ail Estate in Devonshire, formerly called Leason's Land-containing about twelve acres,with all and singular The rights and members and Appurtenances of the same;being bounded Easterly in Land ofJohn T.Davis;Westerly on Land of Benj.Stone,John W.Smith,John T.Davis and the heirs of Sam.Wainwright-Southerly onBenj.Stone,and Northerly on Harriots Land.

3ly:I give and devise to my Son Thomas Smith(now absent from Bermuda)my other Tract ofLand situate in the same Parish of Devonshire,being abouttwelve acres,with all its appurtenances,to him,his heirs and assigns forever-bounded Easterly on lands of Thomas Jennings andHenry Tucker,Westerly on lands of Richard Wood;Northerly on lands of said Thomas Jennings and Estate of William Tynes;Southerly on Henry Robinson and Richard Wood.

4thly:I give and devise my Dwelling House in Smiths Parish,and the Lot of Land on which it stands,with the outbuildings and improvements-together to my Son Isaac and unto his Heirs and assigns forever.

5thly:I give and devise my Lot of Land,containing about two acres(more or less) including Marsh and Pond-situate to the Southward of the Main Road leading towards Smiths Parish Church-also to my said son Isaac-and unto his heirs and assigns forever-being bounded Easterly on the lands of William Perot and Samuel Williams;Westerly on John A.Skinner;Northerly the Main Road;Southerly on Lands of said Samuel Williams.
