Sommer Islands THIS INDENTURE made this third day of August, Anno Domini, one thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine BETWEEN John Pearman of Hamilton Tribe, Mariner, of the one part, and John Godard, of the Town of Saint George, of the other part.

WHEREAS the said John Pearman is seized in [Few] of and in a certain house and lot of ground thereto adjoining and belonging, situate at the East end of the said Town of Saint George, which [ afours] and Houses and Lot is more in the occupation and actually [ possessed ] by the said John Godard, the said house having lately received very great repairs at the expense and out of the private purse of the said John Godard, the Hall of the said House being altogether rebuilt and joined to the other rooms of said House, at the sole expense of said Jn' Godard in the course of the aforesaid Repairs & Amendments NOW KNOW ALL PERSONS whom it doth shall or may concern -- that I the said John Pearman, do by these presents, as well for and in consideration of the Repairs and Amendments before [ explained ], as for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Pounds Current and Lawfull money of the said Islands of Bermuda, to me the said John Pearman in hand paid at and before the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents, the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, and therewith do Confess myself to be amply, fully and truely satisfied Contented and paid, HAVE bargained and sold, and by these presents do clearly and bona fide Bargain , Sell, Alien, [ Enfoffe ], Assign and absolutely confirm unto the said John Godard, His Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, for ever, all that [ ] or Tenement with the Garden adjoining thereto and lying to the Northward of the said Tenement with all and singular its Appurtenances, Edifices and Buildings standing and being thereon--- SO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said [ ] and Tenement, together with the said Lot of Land, which said lot of land one other lot of ground lying to the Westward of the Premises hereby bargained I Sold [ voluntarily ] to the said John Godard together with the other Premises hereby granted, conveyed away, bargained and sold or mentioned or intended to be Granted Bargained and sold, and every part and parcel thereof with [ their ] and every of their Appurtenances unto the said John Godard, his heirs, Executors and Administrators, do hereby Covenant and Agree that the said John Godard, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns shall from henceforth for ever after have hold, [ ] and enjoy the aforesaid Premises, so as aforesaid, sold, disposed of and [granted ] against all persons whomsoever claiming or to claim any right title property or interest thereto and shall ____ for ____ _____ ____ _____ the said Title to the said John Godard his heirs and assigns forever - In Witness Whereof I the said John Pearman have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
