...by one and ___, then my will is that my overseers doe cause my servants to measure (or manure?) and fallow my land, and out of the benefit of it, to allow provision for my servants, and what ever profit also shall bee raised, the one half of it I give to the wife of Stephen Paynter deceased, for the bringing up of her children, which she had by my sonne Stephen, and the other halfe to be put into a stock for my other grandchildren.

Item. My will is that in case my grandsonne John Painter doth come to live, that he shall have the tobacco chest, the coxn's chests (or corn crusher?), one salt chest in the kichon, two pistles, two potts, the table and ___(pestle?), and Mortar and fowles and what other things my overseers shall think fitt, but in case he cometh not ___ himself, then my grandchildren, ____ inhabiting shall injoy all my _____ goods in equall proportion.

Item. My will is that all my plate and pewter and linen and books bee equallie divided betweene my daughter Patience and my daughter Ruth except what shall bee otherwise disposed of in this my will and I give and bequeath unto Patience Bullock after the death of her husband William Bullock my profit or take of _____ in the hall and the best ___oon _____ with a silk fringe belonging unto it and one needle-work cushion and two cushionstools, and my still and all belongings to it, but if shee decease before her husband, then I give these aforesaid goods unto her children.

Item. I doo give and bequeath unto my daughter Ruth, the great chest that is in the parlor, and two cushion stools, and a needlework cushion.

Item. I give unto my n___ Sybella Righton the next Negro childe that shall bee borne of any of the Negroes belonging unto mee, and in case my said ___ doe desire to change the said child if it be a male fro a female, my will is that shee shall have the next female childe that shall belong unto mee for the said male childe and that the said child shall bee nursed for her at the charge of my executrix, till it be twelve months ould. Moreover I give unto the said Sibella one cushion stoole.

Item. I doo give unto Elizabeth, the wife of John Todd my rosestill, in case shee doe outlive my wife.

Item. I doo hereby ordaine my deere and loving wife Jane Painter aforesaid my full and whole executrix of this my will and also doo ordaine and make my sonne Florentius Seymor and Capt Thomas Richards overseers for the taking hand and seeing to the fullfilling of this my will after her decease. And as a pledge of my love I give unto each of my executors a silver ring. To my sonne Seymor a ____ with a foot, and to Capt Richarda a low ___ with two oares.

It is my will that my executrix during her life shall pay unto my overseers for the use of my daughter, the late wife of my sonne Stephen deceased and her children, five pounds ___ of annm out of the benefitt of the goods & chattels left in her hands, and whatsoever profit she shall bee raised out of my estate by her care and industrie may dispose of it to whom shee pleaseth.

It is my will that imediatlie after my decease that my overseers take a true inventorie of all and singular my said estate excepting my wife moarning clothes, her rings, a piece of plate, a trunk, a ____, two cases of bottles, and all my oyle.

That whatever else of my goods or chattell that is not herein ____ossed, which is in the custody of my executrix bee taken into the hands of my overseers imediatlie after her decease, and by them to be improved for a stock for my grandchildren which are and shall be borne before my decease to be equallie divided amongst them when they turn to lawfull age, that is to say, the children of my daughters Patience and of my daughter Ruth and the children of Sybella Righton, and Mary Sto__ (Stokes?) and Patience Tatum.

Item. my will is that in case my Negro _osicus (/Josias?) Simon (/Seymour?) doo honestlie and faithfullie demene himself during the life of my said wife, he shall have the oversight of the hands and families untill my grandsonne john Painter or his heires shall come to possess it, and ___ the said possessor and who to years after his entrie on it and then there bieng nothing of unfaithfullnesse ___ changed uppon him, that hee forever bee freed. And for my Negro Bongo (/Banjo?), my will is that shee continues in the familie untill my said grandsonne or his heirs ___ ___, who having charge that nothing bee wanting for her comfortable living with him, it shall bee at her charge, whether shee will continue or ___ for ___ depart.

Lastlie, and that this is my last will and testament which I desire should after my decease bee fullfilled, I have for testament thereof have unto set my hand and seale this nineteenth of October An:Dom 1659
