Brig Enterprise arrived Thursday last, Elliot ___ master, from Alexandria, DC to Charleston, SC having on board 78 slaves. They were given their freedom. One woman Matilda Ridgely and her five young daughters declared that they did not wish to take their freedom and returned to the vessel. The worshipful William M Cox offered the use of a house.
