The Reverend Joshua Marsden

The Rev Joshua Marsden, Wesleyan minister, was a missionary in Bermuda at an early period in his ministry, after which he went to Nova Scotia. He married a daughter of David Seabury, brother of Bishop Seabury of Connecticut.  He arrived in NY in 1812 with his family from Nova Scotia, en route to England. War was declared between England and the US and he was detained in NY and was appointed preacher there. He returned to England after the war ended. He died in his 60th year and the 38th year of his ministry on August 11th 1837 at Hoxton, near London, England.
