Bermuda als Somer Islands

By His Excellency George James Bruere Esquire Governor and Ordinary of these islands

Whereas Mary Dickinson, late of Southampton Parish widdow deceased without making any last will and testament in writing and her estate as such remains unadministered on, and whereas Mr Daniel Smith Esq'r, Nath'l Todd, Capt John Todd, Mr Benjamin Harriott , and Capt James Gilchrist have prayed for administration on the said estate, they having entered into bond with sufficient securities truly to administer as the law in such cases hath provided, and also due ____tion hath been lately made thereof, and no bans appearing to me to the contrary. Now therefore know that I have committed and by these presents do commit dischare and allow them the said Daniel Smith, Nath'l Todd, John Todd, Benjamin Harriott, and James Gilchrist, the administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and personal estate of her the said Mary Dickinson deceased, whereof or wherein she was possed or interested, adn which shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of them the said Daniel Smith, Nath'l Todd, John Todd, Benjamin Harriott, and James Gilchrist or any other for them. And I do hereby authorize them the said Daniel Smith, Nathaniel Todd, John Todd, Benjamin Harriott, and James Gilchrist to be administrators hereby charging them that (on oath) they do take or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory or account in writing of all singular the goods chattels and personal estate of her the said deceased. And the same cause to be valued and appraised by three honest and indifferent persons by me the Governor and Ordinary aforesaid to be approved and allowed. And the same inventory and appraisement so made and taken they the said administrators are to exhibit in writing into the Secretary's office of these islands within fifteen days next ensuing. And also that they render me or my successors a full and true account of that said administration and all their doings and proceedings therein (on oath) when thereunto required they the said administrators always indemnifying me the Governor and Ordinary aforesaid my sucessors and ministers for and in respect of the promises.

I do hereby ceritfy that the 14?th day of January 1775, before me personally appeared Cap:t John ____ James Harriott? the administrators (with others) of all and singular the goods, chattels & personal estate of Mrs Mary Dickinson deceased who solemnly made oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God the ___ contains a true and perfect ___ of singular the goods, chattels, & personal estate of the said Mary Dickinson deceased which hath come to their knowing. In testimony whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal at arms the day and year above written.

I do hereby certify that this 10th day of January 1775 before me personall appeared Capt John Watson, Cap't George Gibbs and Mr James Perenchief who solemnly made oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that the sums to each article of the aforesaid inventory contain the full and true value and estimation of this same according to the best of their judgements. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at arms the day and year past above written.
