DARRELL, MARY (widow of Moore Darrell)

In the name of God amen.  I Mary Darrell widow and relict of Moore Darrell esq. of Warwick Tribe in the Islands of Bermuda deceased, being of perfect and sound mind and memory do make and declare this and no other to be my last will and testament in manner and form following - that is to say.  First I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and discharged out of my estate.

 

Item.  I give and devise unto my son John Darrell a large seader chest standing in the new chamber, a large table and pine chest standing in the milk house, and a pewter still.

 

Item.  I give and devise unto my daughter Jane Lightbourne a silver porringer marked M:G.

 

Item.  I give and devise unto each of my two sons in law Seth Harvey and Josiah Smith a gold ring to the value of twenty shillings each.

 

Item.  I give and devise unto my grand daughter Frances Parker the smallest seader chest standing in the little chamber.

 

Item.  I give and devise unto my grand daughter Frances Darrell the smallest seader chest standing in my chamber.

 

Item.  I give and devise my negro man called Dick equally among my four grand children, Benjamin Lightbourne, Frances Parker, Darrell Harvey, and Robert Harvey the children of my daughter Mary Harvey deceased.

 

Item.  I give and devise my negro woman called Rachel equally among my four grand children Josiah Smith, George Smith, Ann Smith, and Martha Smith, the children of my daughter Elizabeth Smith deceased.

 

Item.  As for the remainder of my estate which I've not before devised, I give and devise the same as followeth.  The one sixth part thereof which would have been the proportion of my daughter Mary Harvey deceased, originally among my said four grand children, Benjamin Lightbourne, Frances Parker, Darrell Harvey, and Robert Harvey.

 

Item.  I give and devise another sixth part thereof equally among my four said grand children, Josiah Smith, George Smith, Ann Smith, and Martha Smith which said part would have been the proportion of my said daughter Elizabeth Smith deceased.

Item.  I give and devise the remainder and residue of my estate equally among my four children John Darrell, William Darrell, Sarah Hinson, and Jane Lightbourne.

 

Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons John Darrell and William Darrell executors to this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty.
