Whereas Administration of the personal estate of Capt. Joseph Darrell, late of Devonshire Parish in these Islands deceased, was committed to Mrs. Mary Darrell, his widow, who has since left these Islands, so that a part of the said estate still remains unadministered.  And whereas Wm Josephus Darrell has prayed for administration on such unadministered estate, and has entered into bond, with sufficient securities truly to administer, as the law in such cases hath provided and directed, and also due publication having been lately made thereof, and no cause appearing to me to the contrary, now therefore know ye that I have admitted, and by these presents do admit, authorize and allow him the said Josephus Darrell the administration of all and singular the unadministered estate of the said Joseph Darrell deceased, whereof or wherein he was possessed or interested, and which shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said Josephus Darrell or any other for him, and I do hereby authorize him the said Josephus Darrell to be the Administrator, hereby charging him that on oath he do take, or cause to be taken a true and perfect inventory of all the unadministered estate of him the said Joseph Darrell deceased, and the same caused to be valued and appraised, by three or more honest and indifferent persons, by me the Governor and ordinary aforesaid to be approved and allowed.  And the same inventory and appraisement so made and taken, the said Administrator is to exhibit in writing, into the Secretary's Office of these Islands, within fifteen days next ensuing.  And also that he render unto me, or my successors, a full and true account of the said administration, and all his doings and proceedings therein (on oath) when thereunto required, he the said Administrator always indemnifying me the Governor and ordinary aforesaid, my successors and ministers, for and in respect of the premises.  Given under my hand and the great seal of these Islands, this 13th day of March A.D. 1788.
