Att his Majesties Court of Comon Pleas held for these Islands by adjournment for tryall of attachments at the house of Mrs Elizabeth Peniston widow at the Fflatts in Hamilton tribe on Thursday the second day of July 1730.

Before the Hon'ble William Outerbridge Esqr Chief Justice , John Darrell, and Moor Darrell Esqrs Jusges and assistants of the same court.

Richard Tucker Dp'ty Provost Marshall, Thos: Bostock Clk: & John Chaplaine Cryer of the Court.

The Court being call'd and satt &c.

Then was call'd to tryall the action ffollowing (viz't) John Taylor of warwick Tribe, and William Tucker Jnr of the same tribe, shipwright, church wardens of the same tribe against Joseph Lowe late of these Islands, and now residing in the Leward Islands mariner.

An action of trepass upon the case to the damage of the pl'ts in thier capacities as church wardens aforesaid, the sum of forty pounds currant money.

Then was read the act of attachment and the aditional clause thereto, as also the writt of attachment; and the Marshalls return thereon endorsed amounting to eleven pounds ten shillings and six pence, and likewise the Justices order signed & sealed by Richard Hunt Esq Justice of the peace & of the Quoram, and William Tucker Esq Justice of the peace; and also was read the act of Assembly about bastardy in which order the said Justices allow & order,the said Joseph Low to pay unto the said Dorcas Vessey 25:s towards her lying in of a bastard child begotten on her body, and L25 money into the hands of the Church wardens in gross for maintenance of the said child as in the said order is expressed.

And after the whole matter was argued, and it appearing to the Court that the aforesaid two sums of twenty ffive shillings, and twenty ffive pounds was just and due (pursuant to the Act about Bastardy & Justices order) they gave judgement for the sd two sums against the defend't for the said two sums, with costs, which was accordingly enter'd.

Next was call'd Edith Brown of Southampton tribe spinster against Benjamin Basset of Southampton tribe, but now residing in fforeign parts beyond the seas mariner

An action on the case upon assumption to the pl'ts damage twenty four pounds currant money &c.

The was read the writt of attachment and Marshalls return thereon endorsed, which particulars endorsed amounted to the sum of twenty three pounds ffourteen shillings and six pence.

The n the pl't Edith Brown made oath to her account which amounted to the sum of seventeen pounds eighteen shillings & eight pence half peney, which she on oath declared was justly due to her from the def't Basset. And the judgement of the Court passed thereon and was accordingly enter'd with costs.

Then was call'd the Action (viz't)......
