4 Oct 1703 Minutes of Council (Assembly): The Assembly was called. Col Francis Jones nominated and approved as Speaker. Capt Daniel Johnson and Samuel Sherlock sworn in as members of the Assembly. Petition of Mrs Martha Johnson referred to the next Court of Chancery. The Governor reviewed a letter and directins received from His Majesty and the Lords of the Plantations about making an act for raising of monies for the support of the Islands, and regarding the liquor tax lately made in Col. Day's government
