In the name of God, Amen, the fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred twenty three I Israel Brownlow of Warwick Tribe in the Somer Island als Bermuda, Sen'r, being weak in body but of sound and perfect memory praise be given to God for the same and knowing the uncertainty of this life on earth and being desirous to settle things in order, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my creator assuredly believing that I shall receive full pardon and free ____ of all my sin and --- be saved by the previous death and merritts of my blessed saviour and redeemer Christ Jesus and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to my executors hereafter named shall be thought meat and convenient and as ___ such wordly estate as the Lord in mercy hath ___ me my will and meaning is the same shall be employed and bestowed as hereafter by this my last will is ____, and first I do revoke, renounce, frustrate and make void all wills by me formerly made and declared and appoint this my last will and testament.

Imprimis. My will is that my just debts and funeral charges be first paid and satisfied.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son John Brownlow my silver tankard.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Brownlow my two ear'd silver cup.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Brownlow my Negro man called Black Joe; I do give him one bedstead, bedbolster, pillows, pillowbers, sheets and all other furniture thereunto belonging and one large cedar chest, one silver porringer and three silver spoons.

Item. I give to my grandson Benjamin Vesey five pounds in money to be paid him by my executors.

Item. I give unto my son Israel Brownlow my now dwelling house and that parcel of land thereunto belonging and to his heirs male lawfully begotten or to be begotten of his body.

Item. I give to my children namely John, Joseph, Andrew, Benjamin Brownlow, Elizabeth Vesey, Dorcas tatem, and Miriam Arthur my personal estate to be equally divided amongst them as all gifts, debts, and legacies be taken out of this my estate and it is my will that if in case my son Israel Brownlow should anyways loose my said house and land that he shall have and receive his full and equal part of my personall estate and not else, but in case either of my children should dye then for the same to be among my living; It is my will that if either of do quarrel, he or they shall be sut off his or their part or portion of my estate so given them.

Item. It is my will that my Negro man Jack and my Negro Laddy not be disposed of but live with whom or which of my children they think fit.

Item. It is my will and I do hereby ordain and appoint my loving sons John, Joseph, Andrew, Israel and Benjamin Brownlow to be my executors and my loving friend Cap't Samuel Harvey to be an overseer of this my last will and testament. This in witness and testament that is my last will contained in this sheet of paper and have to the same affixed my hand and seal the day and year abovesaid.

These are to certifye that this 9th day of April 1725 personally appeared before me the aforesaid Richard Jones and George Wainwright both of these islands and solemnly made oath that they respectively saw the within named Israel Brownlow sign, seal, and publish the within written instrument as his last will and testament, and that at the time of doing thereof he the testator was of sound and perfect mind and memory. In testimony whereof I have hereinto set my hand the day and year above written.
