I, John Albuoy of Smith's Parish in the islands of Bermuda, a master mariner, being
about to take passage to the islands of Antigua, do hereby revoke, annul, cancel and set
aside all former wills, testaments, and testamentary depositions of any nature and
description by me at any time, here constitute and declare this my friend BENJAMIN
DICKINSON HARVEY of Hamilton Parish in the said islands, counsellor at law, and
SAMUEL MATSON of Hamilton Parish aforesaid, a merchant, executors.
First, I will and direct that all such debts as I might justly owe be as speedily paid and
discharged by my said executors out of my estate after my death as may be.
Secondly, I give and devise unto my wife MARGARET ALBUOY the use and occupation
of my dwelling or mansion house and tract of land, therewith belonging for and during the
term of her natural life and not longer.
Thirdly, I also give and bequeath unto my said wife MARGARET ALBUOY any three of
my Negroe slaves which she might make choice of for her to have the use, services, and
earnings after same for and during her natural life and no longer.
Fourthly, I do give and bequeath unto my daughter, HARRIETT ALBUOY, her
executors, administrators and assignes my Negroe boy Robert.
Fifthly, I also give and bequeath unto my daughter HARRIETT ALBUOY, her executors,
administrators, and assignes my Negroe boy Henry.
Sixthly, at the death of my said wife, I do give, devise and bequeath my said dwelling or
mansion house and tract of land also the three Negroe slaves which she might so have
chosen or such of them as may service my said wife, to and among my daughters, namely
MARY MUSSON, wife of GILES MUSSON, MARGARET WOOD the wife of JOHN
ADAMS WOOD, CATHERINE HINSON the wife of JOSEPH HINSON, FRANCES
PITT the wife of BENJAMIN PITT, the said HARRIETT ALBUOY and ANNA
ALBUOY and my grand daughter MARY SARAH ALBUOY, equally to be shared or
divided among them, their heirs, executors, administrators, and assignes as tenants in
common and not as joint tenants.
Lastly, all the rest and residue of my estate, both real and personal and of any nature and
disposition whatsoever and wheresoever, not herein before disposed of, I give, devise unto
my said children MARY MUSSON, MARGARET WOOD, CATHERINE PITT,
HARRIETT ALBUOY, and ANNE ALBUOY and grandchild MARY SARAH
ALBUOY equally to be shared or divided among them, their heirs, executors,
administrators and assignes as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.
In testimony whereof I the said JOHN ALBUOY have to this my last will and testament
set my hand and seal this 15th day of October in the year of our Lord 1823.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named JOHN ALBUOY as and for
his last will and at his request and with the presence of each other, we have hereto
subscribed our names as witnesses.
