Minutes of HM Council: 6 September 1697
At a council table holden at the Sessions house in St Georges on Monday the sixth day of September in the yeare of our Lord 1697. Present:

Major William Tucker and Mr Samuell Sherlock sworne Counsellers and accordingly took the oaths appointed by Acts of Parliament.
Ordered that each Councellor bee paid out of the Powder money the sume of ffive shills and ffour pence by the Secretary or his depty on every Council day they attend whereon no cause is tried. (Fees in that case being appointed). On this day the Assembly appeared and Charles Walker Esqr chosen Speaker who with the rest of the Members were sworne except Col. White and Aaron Burges. Capt John Tucker, Treasurer, ordered to pay Aaron Bailey one year rent for his cellar being 7 li.

At a council table holden the seaventh day of September abovesaid. Present: His Excellency the Governor and the Council above.
His Excellency was pleased to bring here his acco.t pf perticular disbursements by him laid out for hire of servants & amounting to L25.1.4. Ordered the said sume bee paid by Capt John Tucker out of the publick money. The Assemblt by the Governor dissolved.
