Minutes of HM Council: 7 May 1697

At a council table holden at the Governors house in St Georges the seaventh day of May 1697. Present:

His Excellency John Goddard Esq Governor Capt Gilbert Nelson Capt Richard Peniston Samuell Spofferth Esq
Coll. William Peniston Capt John Tucker Capt Wm Outerbridge  

Ordered that liberty for any vessells to sayle from these Islands is left to His Excellency, the Governor, as to him shall seeme meete.

Ordered that thirtyeight pounds currant money bee paid to Capt John Tucker for the service and adventure of the sloop Aime on the expedition to Antego. Ordered that Charles Minors, Dty Secretary do dispurse out of the powder money in his hands for the fees of clearing out the said sloop the sum of one pound nine shillings and fourpence.

Proposed to send to New England for about 5000 foot of plank by Thomas Stafford bound there for the Governor's intended New House and desired that the Governor be pleased to write to New England for the same.
