Minutes of HM Council: 30 Nov 1698
30 Nov 1698, Governor, Council, and Assembly passed two resolutions
signed by Francis Jones as Speaker. The first was to pay His
Excellency the Gov. the summ L300.0.0, said to be raised by means of
the Liquor Tax. The 2nd was to ask permission to cut timber and raise
stone from the public lands for the more speedy carrying out of erecting
and building a house for the Governor and his successors.
