Minutes of HM Council: 9 January 1727/8

Att a Council holden at the house of Mrs Margaret Zuill in St Georges on Tuesday the 9th January 1727/8.

Present:

Ordered that Coll. Richard Jennings & Mr John Tucker son of Maj Henry Tucker decd. forthwith pay into the hands of Maj Nathaniel Butterfield (Treasurer) the ballance of their accts which remain due to the publick from them.

Upon reading the petition of Mr Geo Tucker of St Georges aforesaid, ordered that the overseers of the Kings Land in St Georegs aforesaid, inspect the House or Houses in possession of the said Mr George Tucker (a tenant on the Kings land) and make a return thereof to this Board in the manner they did those on the kings lands in Tucker's Town at the next sitting.

Ordered that all and every of the parishes that has not as yet sent stones to the Ferry Bridge forthwith do, in order for the speedy reparation thereof persuant to the former order.

Upon reading the petition of Joseph Somersall, ordered that the Overseers of the Glebes land in Baylis Bay admitt of and oversee the said Somersall in cutting as much timber from the said lands as may be sufficient for erecting of a chamber and closett thereon. And that the said overseers do also admitt and allow the Church wardens of St Georges parish to cut two such trees as they shall adjudge sufficient for the repairing of the belfrey of their church.
