Minutes of HM Council: 23 September 1727

At a Council holden in St Georges the 23rd day of September 1727.

This day was read at this Board a letter from the Right honbls the Lords of His Majesty's most Honble Privy Council to His Excellcy the Governor with the form thereon inclosed for proclaiming His Royal Highness George Prince of Wales King of Great Britain & which was ordered to be immediately communicated to the Assembly, desiring their appearance to hear His Sacred Majesty proclaimed accordingly at three o'clock in the afternoon on the parade.

Pass'd an Act intituled "An Act for raising a quantity of timber plank and lime necessary for the repairing the Castle and other fortifications of these Islands"

Eodem Die, in the afternoon the Council sate.
Present
His Excellency the Governor and the same members as in the forenoon.

A message from the Assembly acquainted His Excellcy and Council that their house desired to adjourn till the 1st Monday in March whereupon His Excellcy declar'd that as soon as His Majesty King George the Second was proclaimed, he would return them an answer...and his said Majesty being immediately proclaimed in the manner directed by the form read at the Board in the forenoon (from the Rt Honble the Lords of His Majesties most Honble Privy Council) and His Excelcy and the Councillors having the oaths appointed by Act of Parliament, and the said proclamation, it was ordered. That the Assembly do adjourn till Monday next being the 25th instant in order to be qualified according to law and His Majtys said Royal Proclamation.
