Minutes of HM Council: 6 August 1727

At a Council holden at the house of Mrs Martha Harford in Hamilton Tribe on Monday the 6th of August 1727.

Upon reading the petition of the overseers appointed by an act of assembly for the repairing of the fortifications etc. with an estimate & an agreement witht he workmen therein mentiond; it is ordered

That Capt Nathl Butterfield pays into the hands of the overseers the sum of one hundred pounds out of the money raised by vertue of the said Act (so soon as the same is by him received) pursuant to the prayer of the said petition.
Upon reading the Orders for the Overseers of the Fortifications (no 2) dated the 7th instant the same are agreed to by the Board; and it is ordered that a copy thereof be made & given to the said Overseers for their direction therein. This day Leond White junr. Esq. made oath to his account of the 2 & 4 percent duty dated the 5th day of April 1726.
