Minutes of His Majesty's Council Bermuda 12th Aug 1686

The deposition of Francis Jones appears in full:
"Francis Jones Esq. aged 41 years or thereabouts being duly sworne & having heard ye seventh article exhibited by Willm. Righton Senr. agt. ye honble Richard Cony Esq. deposeth & saith yt he used to pay ye Sheriff ye powder money by ye Honble ye GovE. did tell me yt I must pay him ye powder money for he would trust him no longer with ye kings money; he had trusted him Too long already & when my vessell was going to Sea I came to pay ye powder money to ye honble ye GovE. & he called his neece & bid her fetch downe ye bag for to put ye powder mony in for he would keep ye kings money by itself or words to yt purpose to the best of remembrance and further saith not.
Sworne before ye Honble ye Councell ye 12th Augt. 1686. Francis Jones"

Among these depositions were those of William Pearman, Francis Tucker, John Tucker, Francis Watlington, Samuel trott, Richard Peniston, Francis Dickinson, Richard Pitt, William Pitt, Lawrence Dill, Joseph Hinson, and many others in Bermuda.
