Minutes of HM Council:  4 May 1725

Att a Council  holden this 4th day of May 1725 at the  House of his Excellency the Governor.

Richard Tucker being this day examined upon Oath, declared that to the best of his remembrance he was not present when the Govr. sign'd David Burche's Clearings Lett Pass & Tickett.

Ordered that And'u Auchinleck take into his custody the Minutes of Council till further orders.

An Order of his Excelly: the Gov. & Council of March the 30th 1725 being this day read, it was ordered that the soldiers who keep Guard at the Castle & Pagetts Fort, have each of them their proportion of Corn according to an Act of Assembly & that their wages still be continued to them as formerly.

The Petitions of Robt Dinwiddie, Mercht. & Geo. Tucker Secretary were read, with the full orders, there upon as also George Tucker's answer to the sd petition of Robert Dinwiddies; all which being taken into consideration, tis the opinion of the Council, that the affair does lye before them; and ordered that notice thereof be given to the partys accordingly.

Ordered that all persons who have Demands upon the Publick bring in their bills on the 2nd Tuesday of June next and that Directions be given to the Committee of the Assembly to meet the Govn. & Council the same day, in order to pass the said bills according to the Act of Assembly.

Adjourned to the second tuesday in June.
