Minutes of HM Council: 3 February 1728/9
Att a Council holden at the House of his Excellency the Governor on Monday the 3rd day of February1728/29.
Present:

ButterfieldThis day appeared three members of the house of Assembly with a message to his Excellency the Governour and Council desiring that the publick Accnts. might be laid before their house for their examination. Upon which Samuel Smith Clarke was directed by this Board to wait on the house; and acquaint that they desired they would prepare a committee of their house to meet the Governour and Council at this place tomorrow morning in order to view and inspect the said accounts.
Then appeared the Second time, three members, with a message desiring that the said publick accnts. might be laid before the house as usual. To which this Baord returned for answer (by the same members) that the said acconts. should be laid before them as usual and not otherwise.
Adjourned till tomorrow morning.
