Minutes of HM Council:  21 April 1715

Att a Council  holden at the Sessions House in the Town of St Georges on 21st of April 1715.

This day the Council convened together upon the occasion of the death of his late Excellency Henry Pulleine Esq who departed this life the twentieth of this instant.

And the two members of his Majesties Council here, waited on Madame Pulleine (the widdow and relict of his said late Excellency) to request her to deliver to them his Majesties Commissions and Instructions to his late Excellency which she readily and willingly delivered these following: the Commission and Instructions for Governour, the Commission for Vice Admiral, the Commission for Tryal of Pirates, the Instructions on the Acts of Trade, all which were produced to this Board and his honour Mich.l Burrows Esq. being first placed on his Majesties said Instructions took upon him the Administration of this Government (Pursuant thereunto) as also the Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament and the Oath of President of these Islands.

It is ordered to be Published and Proclaimed throughout these Islands that all Officers both Civil and Military do remain and continue in their respective offices, places, and stations and to act exercise and execute according to the tenour of their respective commissions until further order.

Ordered that George Tucker Esq Secretary do give notice to the Assembly to be in Town on Tuesday next by eight of the clock in the morning.
