258 Abraham Matthaei (Sr.). Born abt 1667 in Neuf Chatel (?).33,87 1665 according to death record. Was granted citizenship to Magdeburg, Germany, on 23 Oct 1693.33,91 Listed as Bürger in the Pfälzer Kolonie Bürgerrolle. Abraham died in Magdeburg, Germany, on 25 Nov 1720; he was 53.87 Age: 55. Buried on 26 Nov 1720 in Magdeburg, Germany.87 Occupation: Shoemaker (Schuster). Religion: Evan. reformed.33

received status as Bürger of the Pfälzer colony in Magdeburg, Oct. 23, 1693; at that time had one son and one daughter, and was said to be from Neuf Chatell.33,91

Surname is spelled “Matté” or “Matthé” in the French language records of the Pfälzer or Französisch Colonie in Magdeburg.84

There is a death record for an Abraham Matthieu, aged 61 years, on October 11, 1689; he was described as the school master (Maistre d’ Eschole).87 Perhaps he is the father of this Abraham Matté. There was also a Susanne, daughter of the “deceased Abraham Matthieu,” who died at the age of 11 years on August 7, 1693.87 Could she be the daughter of Abraham who died in 1689, and the sister of this Abraham (born 1665-7)?

He married Marie Peregentil ca 1690 in Magdeburg, Germany.33,91

They had the following children:
i. Pierre (ca1690-)
ii. David (Died as Infant) (1695-1696)
iii. Esther (1697-)
129 iv. Eleonora (~1698-?)
v. Judith (Died as Child) (1699-1706)
vi. Abraham (Jr.)84 (ca1701-)
vii. Rachel (Died as Infant) (1704-1705)
viii. Zacharie (1706-1729)

259 Marie Peregentil. Born abt 1668.33 Marie died ? .

had one son and one daughter by 169333

Surname is spelled “Perette Gentil” ; “Perete Gentils” and “Peret Gentil” in other entries in the Magdeburg Pfälzer Colonie church book.84

In Nov 1696 Marie and her husband were Godparents to Abraham Migeot, son of Paul Migeot and Esther Perret Gentil84 (who died August 13, 1701, aged 39; probably complications of childbirth: an unbaptised child died the day before).85

262 Johann Henrich Weber. Born ca 1653 in Blomberg, Lippe, (Germany). calculated. Was granted citizenship to Blomberg, Lippe, (Germany), on 28 Nov 1674.92 recorded as Bürger. Johann Henrich died in Blomberg, Lippe, (Germany), on 7 Apr 1721; he was 68.92,101 68 years old. Buried on 11 Apr 1721 in Blomberg, Lippe, (Germany).101 Occupation: Schuhmacher (Shoemaker).92, pg. 96

Antonius Weber was probably born ~1590 or earlier, making it seem more likely that he was the grandfather of Johann Henrich, rather than the father as suggested in the Blomberg house book.92, pg. 33 No clear records are available. Johann is listed in the Bürgerbuch in 1644 with no additional information,36 and also in the House Book at No. 261 [Langer Steinweg 24] in 1644.92

He married Anna Dorothea Lalke on 3 Oct 1683 in Blomberg, Lippe, (Germany).92, pg. 33,95

268 Johan Herman Rieckhoff.6, baptism of son Johann Conrad Born in Dec 1666 in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany). At the age of <1, Johan Herman was baptized in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany), on 16 Dec 1666.71, Bapt 1666.jpg

name spelled “Rÿckhoff” in birth record of Johann Conrad6

The Bösingfeld church book records the birth of a son of Herman Rykehofen on December 16, 1666; Godparents were Herman Fi***e and Frantz Albind. This would be a reasonable birth date for Johan Herman, based on his marriage in 1695. Also, since one of the Godparents is named Herman, it suggests that might have been the child’s name (which is not explicitly given in the record).

He married Agnesa Lesemann6 on 28 Nov 1695 in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany).71

They had the following children:
i. Catrina Elisabeth (1696-?)

At the age of <1, Agnesa was baptized in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany), on 17 Dec 1664.71 Agnesa died in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany), on 21 Feb 1727; she was 62.7 62 years, 3 months; wife (ux.) of Johan Herman Rieckhoff.

In some entries, the spelling of her name looks like “Agneta”; others looks more like “Agnesa”.

270 Hans Dreÿer.6 Born ca 1642. (calculated from age at death). Confirmed in 1656 in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany).71 comment: “Ist den Andern Ostertag”. Hans died in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany), on 29 Feb 1732; he was 90.7 90 years. Buried on 1 Mar 1732 in Bösingfeld, Lippe, (Germany).7

324 Samuel How.4, LDS AFN: 2ND2-BN Born on 20 Oct 1642 in Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.138, pg. 475,189, pg 74 Samuel died in Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, on 13 Apr 1713; he was 70.189, pg 312 LDS AFN: 2ND2-BN. Occupation: Carpenter.390, 1712.8.14 Loan to Sam How 1.jpg

A summary of the documents in the probate file of Samuel How:

There are two documents which seem to be loans taken by Samuel How of Sudbury, one in 1699 for thirty pounds from Samuel Lynde of Boston, the other, with one Nathaniel Hancock, Jr. of Cambridge, a shoemaker, in 1712 for forty pounds from Simon Bradstreet. Samuel How is described as “yeoman” in the earlier loan and “carpenter” in the later one. It may be that these loans were still outstanding at his death and are thus included in the document file.

On 30 April 1713, John How and Samuel How, both of Framingham, and Elisha How of Sudbury, yeomen and all sons of the late Samuel How, signed a bond pledging to “make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, Rights and Credits of the said Deceased ... at or before the thirtieth Day of June next ending,” as well as “a just and true Accompt of his [ie. John How’s] said Administration upon Oath, at or before the thirtieth Day of July next which will be in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Seven hundred and fourteen.” This bond is made to Francis Foxcroft, Esq., Judge of the Probate of Wills for Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

Two days earlier “A true Inventory of the Real and parsnale Estat of Samuel How late of Sudbury decesed Gent taken the 28th day of Aprill 1713 ... by Thomas Brintnall Benjamin Brigges and Abraham Wood.” The page is a little confusing. The total of a number of items is £386 7s. 5p. Of this, £283 is real property (buildings and land), leaving a net total of personal property of £103 7s. 5p. It is signed by Thomas and Abraham.

There are receipts from 1713 and 1714 for payment of debts from the estate from Nehemiah How, Nathaniel Hancock, Sarah Barrett, Sam’ll Stone, Abra. Blithe, Ephraim Angier, John Accars, Jonathan Waldo, John Hill, and James Bradish [?] for various amounts, all paid by John How acting as estate administrator.

On 14 February 1714/15, Nehemiah and Elisha How, sons of Samuel, signed a bond to Francis Foxcroft, Esq. as probate judge for £300 to undertake administration of 2/3 of the estate for the benefit of Samuel’s widow Sarah How and their siblings.

On 16 June 1714 John How issued a detailed accounting of payments made to date, which appears to be £155 6s. 9p. In August 1714 he issued another accounting, including amounts he spent in administering the estate, as well as debts paid, repeating the payments of16 June.

On 15 November 1714, Francis Foxcroft issued a letter forming a committee of several former creditors to Samuel How to analyze the accounting of John How and decide what should be distributed to the widow of Samuel. They replied on 28 January 1714/15 with an accounting of the value of real property belonging to the deceased Samuel How, valuing it at a total of £212.

Hannah is being hard to find. The only reasonably possible Hannah in the records is one born 5 Aug. 1672 in Braintree (Familysearch.org and Savage - par. Samuel and Sarah Shepard). She would only be ~17 when married, assuming the uncorroborated 1689 marriage is correct.
