Will of William BISHOP, St Allen, Cornwall: 1828

Probate granted 28 November 1828, St Allen

This is the last Will of me William Bishop of Curalso in the Parish of St Allen in the County of Cornwall Farmer.

All my personal Estate whatsoever or wheresoever situate, lying or being, ready money, securities for money, goods, chattels, household Furniture & effects, of what nature, kind, or sort soever I give to my Nephew Richard Bishop, & Richard Dawe of the said parish of St. Allen In trust for the use & benefit of my dear Wife Jane & my three children William, Jane & Simon, the Income of which property is to be equally divided between them share & share alike.

In case my wife shall marry I will that her share in my said property shall cease, & in lieu thereof I give her only fifty shillings yearly to be paid her by my Trustees out of the aforesaid Property or by quarterly payments, & my will is that she shall quit her residence at Curalso.

And then my will is that the residue be it what it may, shall be divided between my three children William Jane & Simon share & share alike. And my Will & meaning is, that neither the leasehold Estate of Curalso, nor Ventoness (?) shall be either (he or she shall then quit Curalso – inserted between lines) mortgaged or sold, but as either of my three children shall marry or shall quit the residence of Curalso before marriage after they shall have severally attained the age of 21 years, then she or she shall be paid his or her share of the aforesaid property or in money according to the decision of unconcerned judges of receive an annuity as can be agreed on.

In case my wife should die unmarried, or either of my children should die before they shall have attained the age of 21 years, my will is that the share of him or her so dying shall be divided between the survivors. In witness whereof I have set my Hand & seal the twenty ninth day of July 1828.

Signed sealed by the said Testator William Bishop & by him published & declared to be his last Will on the presence of us who at his request & in his presence and the presence of each other have subscribed our hands as witness thereto.
