British Isles Interest Group

The British Isles Family History Society – U.S.A. has joined the Southern California Genealogical Society (SCGS) to become its British Isles Interest Group.

The SCGS British Isles Interest Group promotes and encourages interest in family history, particularly relating to ancestry in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. We educate and encourage others in British Isles family history through research assistance, a variety of resources and a community to facilitate the acquisition and exchange of family history research information.

The group meets monthly on the 4th Sunday (except December), 1:00-5:00PM, alternating between the Los Angeles Family History Library (LAFHL) on LDS Temple grounds and the SCGS Library in Burbank. At meetings fellow researchers are available to answer questions and provide research assistance. If you bring your family information (pedigree charts and family group sheets with as much information as possible), group members will be better able to assist you in locating information you need to find your ancestors in the British Isles.
