QUESTION: There is reference to the death of Hannah Whigam in the Lounsbury family bible. (d 22 NOV 1874 aged 64) Is this she? Why Whigam? Maiden name or remarriage? Martha records her f-i-l's second wife by the name Dicks; to follow her method, she would have recorded Whigam if her mother had remarried. We have not found any trace of Hannah Shuart in the census records after 1850. Need to try 1870 and then 1860 under Whigam, could be NJ or NY.
