Benson -- Horace E. allen, 76, a rancher and father of cowboy singing star, Rex Allen, died Friday, June 7, 1974, in a Benson hospital from cancer. He came to Arizona from San Angelo, Texas, in 1915 and homesteaded in Graham County. He moved to Willcox in 1930 and continued ranching and also operated a transfer company. He moved to Benson about 20 years ago and was a home builder. Wife, Madeline, four daughters, two stepdaughters, and his son, Rex Allen. He was employed by the Custodial Service Corp. at Williams Air Force from 1944 to 1947.
