Van CRAENENBROECK, Frederick H.

Frederick H. VanCraenenbroeck, 95, a retired civil engineer who was a veteran of both the Spanish-American War and World War I, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1970, in Phoenix VA hospital. Mr. Van Craenenbroeck was employed from 1935 to 1950 by the US Public Housing Authority in Seattle before retiring to Phoenix 20 years ago. He was born in Chicago and was graduated from the Armour Institute of Engineering. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Nell. Cremation followed services in the church. 12/12/1970.

VANDERHOOF, H. William

H. William Vanderhoof, 60, a retired executive for the Bankers Trust Co. of New York, died Thurs., Dec. 10, 1970, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital of a heart attack. Mr. Vanderhoof moved here in July of this year from Huntington, N.Y. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Currie of Phoenix; a son, William, and a brother, both of New York, and four grandchildren. Burial in Glendale Resthaven Cemetery. 12/12/1970.

VASQUEZ, Mary M.

Mary M. Vasquez, 56, who was a native of Mexico and came here in 1917, died Fri., Dec. 11, 1970. Survivors include two sons, Richard and Edward of Phx; a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Garcia of Phx; her father, Salvador Mondragon of Phx; three brothers, Joe, Carlos and Arnold Mondragon, all of Phoenix; two sisters, Mrs. Elisa Apodaca of Phoenix, and a sister out of state; one grandchild. Mon. 12/14/1970.

VASSAR, Lawrence E.

Scottsdale -- Rosary for Lawrence E. Vassar, 38, was recited at Mercer Mortuary. Mass was said in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, South Miller Rd at 2nd St. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery. No other information given. 12/14/1970.

VEITH, Arthur C.

Arthur Charles Veith, 85, who retired in 1950 as a supervisor after 30 years with the Jacksonville, FL, Terminal Co., died Dec. 11, 1970, in Phoenix Nursing & Convalescent Center. Mr. Veith came to Phoenix in 1959 from Jacksonville and made his home in Lakeside the past year. He was born in New Haven, CT. Survivors include his wife, Bertha J.; and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha V. Goodell of Lakeside; a brother out of state; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services and burial in Branford, CT. 12/1/21970.

VICKERY, P. E. 'Vic'

Globe -- Park E. "Vic" Vickery, 84, died Dec. 18, 1970, in Gila General Hospital. He was born in Bloomingdale, IN, and had lived in Globe since 1916. A retired teacher and coach, he taught industrial arts at Globe High School and instructed several summer sessions in archaeology at the University of AZ. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams of St. Joseph, IL, and Mrs. Goldena Teague of Bloomingdale. Burial in Globe Cemetery. 12/19/1970.

VILLALANTI, Louis N.

Morenci -- Louis N. Villalanti, 74, died Wed., Dec. 16, 1970. He was born in Spain and came to the U. S. and Morenci in 1911. He worked in the sawmill until 1932 when he established Villalanti Freight Lines, a business he operated until his death. Wife, Nina; son, Dr. Carl VILLALANTI of Phoenix, and four grandchildren. Mass was in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Clifton Elks conducted graveside services in Bunker Cemetery. Arizona Republic 12/18/1970.

Antonia Villaloboz, 71, 1339 E. Mohave, a construction worker, was born in Mexico and came to Phoenix in 1917. Survived by a son, Henry C. of Phoenix (funeral announcement says Wyoming); daughters, Antonia V. PINA of Visalia, CA; Emma V. YBANEZ of Phoenix; stepdaughter, Frances CASTRO; two brothers, Eduardo and Amanda, both out of state; 34 grandchildren and 70 gr-grandchildren. Funeral mass at Mary Magdalene Chapel of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 3/8-9/1970.
