JACKSON, William E.

William E. Jackson, 85, a retired accountant, died Sat., Jan. 3, 1970, in a local nursing home. He was born in Flint, Michigan, and came to Phoenix in 1966. Survivors include one son, William C. of Phoenix; two sisters, Janet JACKSON of Phoenix and one sister out of state; one brother out of state and two grandchildren. Burial in Warsaw, New York. 1/5/1970.

JAMES, Kenneth, Jr.

Kenneth James, Jr., 31, who had been employed as a cashier for Bayless Markets, died of a gunshot wound Tuesday, March 3, 1970, en route to St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Okmulgee, OK, and was brought to Phoenix 27 years ago. He had served in the National Guard. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Rosie HUNTER; and a sister, Mrs. Pearlean WADE, both of Phoenix. Burial in Double Butte Cemetery, Tempe. 3/4/1970.

JAMISON, Charles R

17 Jan 1897 - 12 Dec 1970
Chandler -- Charles R. Jamison, 73, a retired harness maker, died Sat., Dec. 12, 1970. Mr. Jamison, a native of Illinois, came to Chandler in 1964. He was a member and past master of the Bloomfield, IL, Masonic Lodge and a member and past patron of the Order of Eastern Star. He belonged to the Shrine Temple in Danville, IL. Survivors include his wife, Mary N.; a son, Richard, of Chandler; a daughter, Mrs. Leota Argus of Hammond, IN; a sister and a brother out of state; and one grandchild. Burial in Gardens of Peace Cemetery. 12/14/1970.

JASO, Ramon V.

Tempe -- Ramon V. Jaso, 81, a retired Southern Pacific foreman, died Monday, Feb. 23, 1970, at a rest home. He was born in Mexico and lived here for 55 years. He was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Julia J. Pedilla of Tempe; one brother, Ejulo of Benson; one sister out of state and four grandchildren. Funeral Mass was at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mesa. Burial in Mesa Cemetery. 3/1/1970.

JAVIER, Mrs. Agata L.

Scottsdale -- Mrs. Agata L. Javier, 51, a clerical worker with Arcadia High School, died Mar. 8, 1970, in Doctors Hospital. She was born in Puerto Rico and came to Arizona 10 years ago. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. Survivors include her husband, Degracias R.; father, Severino LOMO of Colorado Springs, CO; three sons, Nicholas, Melchor, and Ricardo; a daughter, Consuelo; brother, Rizal LOMO of Sierra Vista; and two sisters out of state. Burial in Green Acres Memorial Cemetery. 3/9/1970.

JEROME, Varney V.

Varney V. Jerome, 72, retired from the rendering business, died Fri., March 6, 1970, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. He was born in Downey, CA, and came here 12 years ago. Wife, Iva; a daughter, Mrs. Janice La PIERRE; a son, Varney JEROME, both of Phx; and eight grandchildren. Burial in Banning, California. 3/8/1970.

JOHNSON, Alberta L.

Services and burial for Alberta L. Johnson, 55, a dietician who came here 12 years ago from Minnesota, will be in her native Red Wing, Minnesota. Survivors of Miss Johnson, of 367 E. Windsor, include a brother, Lloyd G. JOHNSON, of Red Wing. 3/4/1970.

JOHNSON, Arthur J.

Arthur J. Johnson, 77, a retired machinist who worked for the Navy at Litchfield Park, died Fri., March 6, 1970, at Memorial Hospital. He was born in New York City and came to Phoenix in 1947 from Chicago. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Montezuma Masonic Lodge 35, the El Zaribah Shrine and Luke Greenway American Legion Post 1. No known survivors. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park. 3/9/1970.
