AHLGREN, Esther I.

Services for Mrs. Esther I. Ahlgren, 70, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1970, in her home, 1821 N. 25th Place, were in Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Ahlgren was a member of Phoenix Lodge 677, Vasa Order of America. Sunnyslope Garden Club and a life member of the Ancient Mystical Order of Rosae Crucis. Born in Pennsylvania, she came to Phoenix in 1952 from San Jose, Calif. Survivors include her husband, Carl W. The Arizona Republic Sunday, March 1, 1970.

AKERBERG, Dorothy

Dorothy Akerberg, 59, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1969, in her home. She came here six years ago from her native Danville, IL. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ruth STEPHENS of Washington. Published in the Arizona Republic 1/1/1970.

ALLEN, Millard

Millard Allen, 62, a retired Phoenix real estate broker, died Sat., Mar. 7, 1970, at Phoenix General Hospital. He was born in Ozark, Kansas, and came here 27 years ago from Rotan, Texas. Wife, Clara; son, Millard J.; one brother out of state; and two grandchildren. Burial at Resthaven Park. 3/9/1970.

ALPERT, Jessie "Gram"

Mrs. Jessie "Gram" Alpert, 86, died Sun., March 8., 1970, at Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Russia and came here from Cleveland in 1952. She was a member of the Beth El Congregation. Survivors include two sons, Harold H. of Phoenix and Norman J. of San Diego; two daughters, Mildred and Mrs. Elenor FISCHEL, both of Phoenix; two brothers and two sisters out of state; nine grandchildren and seven gr-grandchildren. Burial in Beth Israel Memorial Cemetery. 3/9/1970.

ALTMAN, Rose

Gila Bend -- Mrs. Rose Altman, 90, died Sun., Dec. 13, 1970, in Maricopa County Hospital. She was born in Lead, S.D., and came to Arizona 45 years ago. She operated the Desert Rose Cafe in Arlington for 15 years and later ran a boarding house in Ajo for 15 years. For the past 15 years she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Delores McMahon, in Gila Bend. One grandchild also survives. Graveside services were in Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery, Buckeye. 12/17/1970.

ALVAREZ, Juanita C.

Juanita C. Alvarez, 62, who came to Phoenix 45 years ago from Los Angeles, died Sat., Dec. 12, 1970. She was born in Mexico. Survivors include her husband, Rudolph A.; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Woolford of Phoenix and Mrs. Margie Enca of Pittsburg, CA; three sons, Ernest and Rudy, both of Pittsburg and Ted of Tempe; a brother and a sister out of state; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral Mass was in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N. Third St. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Published Tues. Dec. 15, 1970.

ANDERSON, Allen A

Allen A. Anderson, 44, assistant manager for Western and Southern Life Insurance Co., died of a heart attack Monday, March 2, 1970, en route to Maryvale Samaritan Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and came to Phoenix nine years ago from Hartford, West Virginia. He was born in Syracuse, OH. Wife, Jean; son, Allen L.; daughter, Gail ELDRIDGE and Debbie LUFT. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Glendale. 3/4/1970.

ANDERSON, Myrto J.

Sun City -- Myrto J. Anderson, 71, who owned department stores in Chelsea, Michigan, and moved here two years ago from Bay City, Michigan, died Wed., March 4, 1970, in Bells Lodge. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and a member of St. Christopher's Episcoapl Church of Sun City. Wife, Grace; son, Frederick of Los Angeles; daughter, Shirley BASH of Mission Viejo, CA; a brother and two sisters out of state. Burial in Sunland Cemetery. 3/6/1970.
