OATIS, J. Ross

J. Ross Oatis, 75, former owner of the Oatis Photo Shop, died May 4, 1967, in his home, 4402 N. 33rd St. Mr. Oatis was formerly associated with the Wayland's Central Pharmacy. He was born in Centralia, MO, and moved to Phoenix in 1941. Survivors include a son, William N. Oatis of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Velma Slawson of Phx; and two grandchildren. Services were in Paradise Chapel with cremation following. 5/5/1967.

O'CONNOR, Della Mary

Della Mary O'Connor, 87, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, died Sep. 5, 1967, in Sacred Heart Home, 1110 N. 16th St. Mrs. O'Connor, who lived in the home, was born in Ireland and had resided in Phoenix the past 23 years. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Lucy Caveness of Phoenix. Mass of Requiem was in the chapel at the home. Entombment in St. Francis Mausoleum. 9/6/1967.

OGLE, Clementine E.

Clementine E. Ogle, 76, a winter resident of Phoenix and Mesa the past 12 years, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1967, in a Missoula, Montana, hospital. Mrs. Ogle was the widow of David Ogle who died in Mesa in 1958. She was born in St. Paul, MN, and lived in Montana most of her life. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret C. Ogle of Phoenix; three brothers, Jack D. Ogle of Phoenix, William Ogle of Bozeman, MT, and Edwin F. Ogle of Missoula; 11 grandchildren and three gr-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters out of state. Services and burial were in Missoula. Aug. 17, 1967.

OKAMOTO, Donald Ray

Lance Cpl. Donald Ray Okamoto, 19, was killed in action in South Vietnam Aug. 30, 1967. He joined the Marines in April 1966 and had been in Vietnam since January 1967. He had been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered earlier. Born in Phoenix, he graduated from Maryvale High School. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Blance Harris Phx; his father, Earl Okamoto of California; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Marshall of CA, Mrs. Erma Lee Ottwell and Mrs. Joyce Jean Diderick, both of Phx; a brother, Ronald D. Okamoto of Phx; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elza Osborn of Phx, Frank Okamoto of Phx, and Mrs. Ruby Okamoto in California. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Glendale. 9/8/1967.

OLANDER, Sallie

Bisbee -- Sallie Olander, 80, died Sat., Aug. 12, 1967, in Copper Queen Hospital. Mrs. Olander was born in Grass Lake, MN, and had resided in the northern part of Cochise County since 1913. She recently moved to Bisbee. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kaye Lowy of Elgin; four sons, Alton of Rock Springs, AR, Carl of Show Low and Albert and Phil, both of Bisbee; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Page of MN; 17 grandchildren and five gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were at the Church of Christ. Burial in Desert Rest Cemetery at Bowie. Aug. 16, 1967.

OLDSEN, Amanda

Scottsdale -- Amanda Oldsen, 67, died Sun. Sep. 3, 1967, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. She was born in Charlotte, Iowa, and came here from Davenport, IA. Survivors include her husband, Carl; a daughter, Mrs. Claire Dowell of Scottsdale; a son, Gey of Houston; and two grandchildren. Burial in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 401 N. Hayden. 9/5/1967.

OLIN, Frank A.

Tempe -- Frank A. Olin, 56, who had been a truck driver for the Maricopa County Highway Dept, died Tues., Sep. 19, 1967, in Mesa Southside Hospital. Mr. Olin was brought to Arizona 55 years ago from Kansas. He was born in Hutchinson, KS. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church here. Survivors include his wife, Reba; two sons, Frank R. of Tempe and Clarence A. of Glendale; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Jean Johnson of Mesa and Mrs. Marjorie Edwards of Phx; a brother in Oregon; and eight grandchildren. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Phoenix. 9/21/1967.

OLIVO, Miguel A.

Glendale -- Miguel A. Olivo, 36, of 6133 W. Lamar, died August 9, 1967, in St. Joseph's Hospital. He had worked for the City of Glendale for five years and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Glendale. He was born in Texas and came to Arizona seven years ago from California. Survivors include his wife, Consuelo, and three sons, Miguel, Jr., Antonio and Andre, all of Glendale; and two stepbrothers and two stepsisters out of state. Rosary at Maryvale Chapel. Mass of Requiem at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W. Orangewood. Burial in Glendale Memorial Park. The AZ Republic, Thurs., Aug. 10, 1967.
