ABBOTT, Luther Charles

Private services for Luther Charles Abbott, 65, who died Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital, were conducted by Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas. Mr. Abbott, a native of Parker Prairie, Minnesota, came here in 1946 from Lakewood, Ohio. His home was at 2027 W. Verde Lane. He was associated with Abbott-Nash Realty in Phoenix until four months ago. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a son, Charles, of Phoenix; and four sisters and two brothers, all out of state. Published in the Arizona Republic Monday, January 4, 1960.

Rosary was recited in Paradise Chapel and Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary {sic} Alessi, 85, who died January 12, 1960, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Alessi, a native of Italy, who came to Phoenix 10 years ago from Long Island, N. Y., lived at 3821 E. Indian School. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial was in Long Island. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maria Tobia, Phoenix, and Mrs. Elviria Lodata, Long Island; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Thursday, Jan. 14, 1960, p. 65.

AMARILLAS, Antonio M.

Florence -- Requiem mass for Antonio M. Amarillas, 76, will be today in the Church of the Assumption. Mr. Amarillas died Sunday, January 3, 1960, in Pinal General Hospital. Born in Sonora, Mexico, he came to Pinal County in 1908. He had been a prospector and miner all his life. There are no known survivors, but Mr. Amarillas had spent his years in Arizona with Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Jaine and their family. Burial will be in Florence Cemetery. ANDERSON, Clarence E.

Services and burial for Clarence E. ANDERSON, 48, who died Tuesday in Tempe Clinic Hospital, will be in Cleveland. Mr. Anderson, a native of Toledo, Ohio, who came to Arizona 15 years ago from Cleveland, lived at 3002 E. Culver. State representative for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., he was a member of the Halcyon Masonic Lodge in Cleveland. Friends may call at the Arizona Funeral Home, 376 N. Prescott -- Funeral services for Walter A. Anderson, 64, who died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1960, in his Yarnell home, were in the Hampton Funeral Home. Born in Chicago, Mr. Anderson had lived in Arizona 21 years, the past five in Yarnell. A veteran of World War I, he was retired. He is surved by his wife, Florence; a son, Donald, Santa Ana, CA, and a daughter, Mrs. Violet Harris, Hartsville, Missouri. AZ Republic 20 Jan 1960.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beryl Arbaugh, 48, Tempe resident seven years, will be in Carr Mortuary here. Mrs. Arbaugh, a native of Crescent, Iowa, died Tuesday, 19 January 1960, in Mesa Southside District Hospital.
