Our Index of our Early Settlers contains many hundreds of names taken from the Alberton Rate Books and Early Maps showing property runs etc. If you have a interest in the early days of this part of Gippsland then you will most likely find a familiar name listed there and somewhere amongst the library holdings there will likely be found further information to a name. Please stop by our "Members Surname Interest" page. Many of our members are local identities who have ancestors that were early settlers to the area and you may well find a Surname to interest you. There are also of course many Surnames for over-seas listed as well.

We have many Books, Fiche and CD`s for sale covering the local area and its history. The Cd`s comprise cemetery headstones, and plots beautifully photographed and with a full transcription.

Did you or any of your family attend Woranga State School No. 4203 on "Parkside" five miles east of Yarram ? Or perhaps you have some information regarding the school. Please visit the page if you have a interest there.
