Melton
Family History Group Inc. was formed in 1994 to satisfy the needs of people in
Melton who were researching their family histories and who wanted to share their discoveries, their problems and the expertise they had developed. |
An active group, our members represent the diversity that makes modern Australia. |
The Melton Library, in conjunction with Melton Family History Group, has worked towards providing a comprehensive and valuable resource.
An extensive microfiche and CD ROM collection and a wide range of books as well as dedicated computers, enable our members and the public to pursue most avenues of their research locally.
The collection receives yearly funding and as a result of this, it is constantly expanding. There are indexes available from the Library for both the Microform & CD ROM collection and the Local & Family History Book collection and these are updated as needed.
MFHG Members at one of many events which we organise during the year. In this case they stand in front of the relocated Headstones that were removed from the Victoria Market Site. They now comprise the Pioneer Section at Fawkner Memorial Park. We all help each other to find Family Burial sites where required as these are often the source of a lot of Family information. Days like this fulfill the need for a good group experience and especially with the added bonus of deliciously catered meal in the Fawkner Memorial Park Tea rooms.
