The Genealogical Society Gladstone District Inc. is compiling a Pioneer Register
of families who lived in Gladstone and the Port Curtis region pre 1929.

This publication will contain information submitted by descendants of these pioneer families.
Port Curtis / Gladstone, officially established in 1854, is one of the earliest settlements in
Queensland and as such it is very important to record the people who created the history
and heritage of this vibrant region.

Some of the areas in Port Curtis pre 1929 are the Boyne Valley, Many Peaks, Littlemore, Ubobo,
Nagoorin, Glassford Creek, Norton, Mount Jacob, Calliope, Beecher, Burua, Benaraby, Mount Larcom,
Yarwun, Targinnie, Raglan, Miriam Vale, Bororen, Iveragh.

The local community and family historians will use the Pioneer Register in future years.
