** STATE LIBRARY FREE DATABASE RESOURCES FOR NSW RESIDENTS

The State Library of NSW is giving local residents free, online access to thousands of local and international newspapers, journals, magazines, rare books and film trivia from the convenience of their home computer. Many of of the resources are not available free to the general public - including past issues of the London Times dating back to 1785. The resource ProQuest Australia and New Zealand Newsstand features over 25 newspapers, including currant and recent back issues of the Sydney Morning Herald and The Daily Telegraph.

Users can also view transcripts from the ABC and BBC news and currant affairs programs, including the 7.30 Report.

For the history and literature enthusiasts, Eighteenth Century Collections Online contains over 150,000 digital, full text and searchable copies of virtually every work printed in English in the 1700s.

Registration: To participate you must be registered as a State Library client. Registering is very easy, you can apply online (Editor: I have registered and it is simple).
