There are various interesting markers used to memorialize loved ones in times past. Some found in various cemeteries around Benton County inclde the following.
When possible I have included GPS coordinates for the cemeteries. There are a couple different formats depending on the source. Standard Degree ( ° ), Minute ( " ) and Second ( ' ) [ 36° 21" 21' N ] and decimal [ 36.44565° ]. GPS coordinates are probablly the most accurate way to locate a cemetery. Driving directions are also included but may or may not be accurate. A map image ( ) after the Find A Grave link indicates that there is a map of the location on the Find A Grave site.

Beavers Cemetery | 36° 29" 54' N | 094° 22" 49' W | FAG | Old directions: North of Prestwick Ln. & North Mt. Pleasant Rd., Gravette. (directions not verified) Update: Went looking for this one 12/14/05. My research indicates it should be off of Edinburgh Rd., W of Bella Vista, almost on the Missouri state line. The routes of some roads have changed up here. A large piece of N. Mt. Pleasant Rd. that once intersected with Edinburgh is no longer in use. Edinburgh is accessible by Highlands Blvd., but please be warned this is very dangerous - these are gravel roads, and Ediburgh Rd. travels down a steep hill and is badly washed out with deep ruts. It is barely a road. It should be accessible from the E through Bella Vista. Edinburgh and Mt. Pleasant once formed a four-way intersection, which is still discernible. Beavers Cemetery should be in the NW quarter of this intersection. The area is on a hill and covered with thick briars. A no trespassing sign is here. Further research / permission for access needed. |
