County records are available from 1876 to the present. The Ouachita County Court House was totally destroyed by fire in December, 1875 and most of the records were lost. A comprehensive list of what is available locally and at the Arkansas History Commision/Archives is listed below.
Although you will find the staff helpful and courteous, they do not have time to do genealogical research on your behalf. Be certain when you request copies of documents, that you provide as much pertinent information as necessary to locate your record.
