William D. Arnold and Susannah Gains

Of Pickens and Pendleton Counties, SC

This is another Arnold family that I have been researching. I have started with the William D. Arnold who married Susannah Gains. I know that they lived in Pickens and Pendleton Counties, South Carolina in the early 1800's. They may very well be related to the Arnolds in Laurens County, Abbeville County or what is now Greenwood County but I have yet to find absolute proof. They not only lived close to each other in South Carolina, but they seemed to know the same people and the naming practice is similiar.

I hope that making my research public on this family will help other researchers who are looking for data on this Arnold family. As of this writing, I have no idea who the parents are to this William D. Arnold, b. 1784 North Carolina. Hopefully, further research will solve that question and William D. Arnold will be able to be connected with one of the other Arnold families who lived in this area of South Carolina.
