"Goodspeeds" are frequently used for "early" references for Arkansas and Tennessee and obtained biographies from families in both states and sorted them into counties in each state.  It cost $10 to submit a biography so the poorer settlers were not mentioned.  The bio's that were submitted were first hand knowledge and many tell their mothers maiden name, named all their brothers and sisters, children and who they married, where they came from and when, etc. Montgomery County begins on page 466 and ends on page 497.
