"I remember going as a small child a couple of times...it would have been around 1957/58. The inside of the pub is one of my vividest memories as we went to the kitchen where the two old ladies sat talking. It was very dark with a large inglenook fireplace where food was cooking; I remember sitting in the seat...there was a large stable yard I think. It's by the river."
