The wedding took place at the Oxford Road Methodist Church, Mexborough, on Monday, the Rev. M. Featherstone officiating, of Miss Lily Ward, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ward, Tennyson Avenue, and Mr. Ben Ardron, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Ardron, Swinton. The service was choral and the hymns “The voice that breathed o’er Eden” and “O perfect love” were sung. Mrs. J. W. Watts was organist. The bride was given away by her father and wore white satin and lace. She carried lilies and fern. The bridesmaids were Misses Daisy, Joyce and Iris Ward, and Misses Alice and Kate Ardron, wearing mulberry velvet, with long sleeves and belts of silver lame. They carried bronze chrysanthemums. There were three small attendants. The best man was Mr. Edwin Ardron. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the bride’s mother wearing wine charmeuse and the bridegroom’s mother wearing blue silk. The gifts included a case of fish knives and forks from the choir, and a three-tier cake stand from the Sunday School of the Oxford Road Methodist Church, of which the bride is a prominent member. The honeymoon is being spent in London.
