Will of Carter Wood


                        
    In the name of God, Amen. I Carter Wood, of the State of Arkansas and Bradley County,
being in good bodily health and of sound and disposing mind and memory. Calling to mind
the frailty and uncertainty of human life, and being desirous of setting my world of 
affairs and directing how the Estate with which it hath pleased God, to bless me with,
shall be disposed of after my decease. While I have strength, and capacity so to do. Do
make and publish this my last will and testamnet, hereby revoking and making null and 
void all other wills and testaments heretofore made and first I command my immortal being
to him who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent manner but without
ostentation.
   And, as to my worldly Estate, and all the property real personal or mixed of which I
shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease. 
   I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following to wit.
    My will is that all my just debts and funeral expences shall, by my Executor herein
after named, be paid out of my Estate as soon after my decease as shall by him be found
convenient. 
   
    Item:  I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Caroline Lyons, the sum of
ten Dollars to be paid to her by my Executor as soon after my decease as found convenient
by him.

    Item:  I give devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Jane Ragar, the sum
of Ten Dollars to be paid to her by my Executor as soon after my decease as found convenient
by him.

    Item:  I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my property of every description
and kind to be equally divided between by beloved Grand Son George Lee Wood and the bodily
heirs of my beloved daughter Masania Bull, deceased, namely Evanah Bull, Carter Bull, and
Jacob Bull, the said George Lee Wood to have an half of said property and Evanah Bull, 
Carter Bull, and Jacob Bull, to have the other half.

    Lastly, I do nominate, and appoint I. H. D Scobey to be the Executor of this my last
will and testament.
         
               In Testimoney whereof, I the said Carter Wood have to this my last will
and testament, 
               subscribed my  name and applied my seal this January 16th, A.D. 1865

Signed sealed and delivered by the said, Carter Wood as for his last will and testament,
who at his request and in his presence and in the Presence of each other have subscribed
our names as witness hereto
