DORIS B. GILBERT (1905-2001)

Doris B. Gilbert, age 95, of Jersey, died February 26, 2001, at her home.

She was born June 8, 1905, in Jersey, a daughter of the late Emma Dixon and George Burns. She was a housewife and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jersey.

Survivors include 6 children, Charlie Mae (Joe) Strong of Milwaukee, WI, Carnice (Girtie) Gilbert, Reba (Alp) Pickett and Joe (Jean) Gilbert of Arkansas, Elnor (Vibon) Childs of Milwaukee, WI, and Mary Gilbert of Pasadena, CA; 23 grandchildren, 1 special grandchild, Norma (Chuck) Moore, 54 great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one child.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 3, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jersey with Rev. Earl Thomas officiating.

Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.
