The Walker County Genealogical Society, Inc. meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Carl Elliott Regional Library, at 1:00pm. (except in November and December we they meet on the 3rd Thursday) They also publish a quarterly called Walking Back in Time. The WCGS, Inc. maintains a compilation of Family Ancestor charts donated by each member, in these records are vast resources of family information that have been researched by their members. The WCGS, Inc. also publishes Volumes of Cemetery records: Here They Rest.  These records include not only the cemetery census --they also include information compiled from the records that were available at those times. Another of their publications is: Walker County Probate Marriage 1877-1908, a 447 page compilation of marriages indexed by bride and groom, including various notations.  Wallace State College

Wallace State College, Hanceville, Alabama (South Cullman County, Alabama), has one of the most comprehensive programs for family research anywhere in the Southeast. The Wallace State holdings are extensive. Their Research Center is located on the fifth floor of the Wallace State Library.

Pontotoc, Mississippi Library
