JERIMIAH CORLEY PROBATE
RECORDS
Sometime before 1837 Jerimiah
Corley passed away and on July 20, 1837 his widow, Mary Corley, married
Mathew Sellers. In 1842 final settlement of his estate was made and this
is a copy of those records.

The State of Alabama
} Orphans Court in Vacation April 25,1842
Henry County } Now at this term came Mathew Sellers administrator
declines now } on the estate of Jerimiah Corley late of said county
deceased and having given notice according
to the statute, makes final settlement with Court
on said estate and on such settlement there appears
to be in the hands of said
administrator the
sum of One Hundred Eleven 52/100 Dollars
to be divided between the widow &
five children.
Wherefore it is
ordered that the said administrator do
pay unto the widow who is the present
wife of said administrator the sum of Twenty Two 30/100
Dollars it being one fifth part of said estate as her
distributive share & file the receipt
when first in this office.
Ordered that the
said administrator pay unto James Standly husband
of Mahala , one of the heirs to said estate the sum
of Seventeen 85/100 Dollars & take the receipt therefore
& file in this office.
Ordered that
the said administrator pay unto James
B. Standly, husband of Marabelle one of
the heirs
to said estate
the sum of Seventeen 85/100 Dollars
take the receipt therefore & file in this office.
Order that the
said administrator retain the distributive shares
of the other thus minor heirs of
said estate until further orders from this
Court.
