Transcriber's Notes:

Susan Manurva Whitney was Isaac Marion Whitney's sister.  She is thought to have died of smallpox.

The war years of 1862-1863 were particularly hard for the Baker Family.  Elizabeth A. Baker Whitney's mother, Martha Ann Jones Baker, died during that time frame, as well as her three brothers: Alford Newton Baker, Francis Fuller Baker and Thomas Hilmon Baker.  The Walker County property of her father, Francis Richard Baker, also was burned out by Union soldiers in 1862-1863.

The youngest Whitney children, Yula Linor and William, are thought to have died in the Cholera epidemic of 1873.
