Glenda Norris Tue Jan 16 2007
Looking for EXACT location of Charles Daniel Lucas grave.  He is buried somewhere behind Shady Grove church (Newtonville) off of hwy 171 (RT 100) in an old indian burial ground.  I believe the grave is between Shady Grove and Gravlee Cemetery.  It is stated in old family records that he was buried on the Menz-Hughes place (anyone familiar with Menz - Hughes?).  I recently visited Shady Grove and found a grown up path but had no luck finding his grave.  I am looking for someone who has seen it recently.  It was last seen in 1960.  I would appreciate any information you have.

I am trying to get specific directions to the GILPIN FAMILY CEMETERY in Fayette County. I think I understand that it is located on Hy 43 north of Fayette, maybe just north of Unity.  I assume that refers to Unity Church.  I have also be told that the cemetery is difficult to locate.  Does anyone have specific directions so that I might find the cemetery?  Are there markers of any type?  Thank you

MARSHALL  • DAVIS

Susie Marshall Sun Feb 18 2007
Looking for information on MARSHALL's in Fayette Co, AL.  Many years ago, my parents spoke with Maggie Lee (DAVIS) HAYES about her research on the MARSHALL family.  At that time she had complied information about this end of the family.  I know that she also did a lot of research on her DAVIS family in the county.  I was wondering if records/copies of her research had been saved somewhere following her death. I am, of course, most interested in the MARSHALL information.  If anyone has any information on where Mrs. Hayes' tomes of research might be, please let me know!!  Thanks!

BLACKWELL • TREADWAY  (TREADAWAY) • FORD

Karen Blackwell Wed May 2 2007
My interest is especially in finding the parents of my great-grandfather LEONARD DAVID ( L.D.) BLACKWELL who was born Oct. 4, 1862; "Somewhere" in Alabama!  I have recently noticed the connection in Fayette Co. between James E. BLACKWELL (Constable-1862) and F.M. TREADWAY (Sheriff-1865).  Have not been able to find the birth placement anywhere (exact date is documented on death certificate).  I believe the family moved to Texas between 1862 and 1880 (probably before 1870) with a T.C. TREADAWAY(A?) who may be a cousin, to live with the FORD family. TREADAWAY had married their daughter Mollie and they had a son James T. TREADAWAY.  Thak you in advance-any help appreciated!    http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/l/a/Kare n-M-Blackwell/index.html

LYONS  • DODSON

Maggie Owens Fri Jun 29 2007
My Grandmother was Jesse Bertha Adel Weeks Lyons.  Her mother was Belle Dodson whose mother was Americus whose father was Addison Whitfield whose father was Lemuel.  I have so far no problem in tracing them back.  My problem is that there is no husband ever mentioned for Americus.  Her children are all listed as being Dodson's.  In the 1880 cencus Mary and Americus were living together with all their children and all the children were listed as Dodson's.  Both women were listed as single and not widowed.  In a newer cencus (I beleive it was 1910) she is living with her son William Dodson and is listed as a widow.  So, How can these children be Dodson's?  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
