CAPLES • NORRIS • MOORE

Leigh Compton ~ Jun 9 2000
I am searching for information on any CAPLES family from Fayette County. James Thomas CAPLES was born in Fayette County in 1860 - parents were James CAPLES and Martha Rachel NORRIS. The family shows up in the 1860 census records for Fayette County. However, James the father was killed in the Civil War and Martha remarried and moved her family to Tuscaloosa County. James CAPLES was the son of William CAPLES and Jemima MOORE. He had at least two brothers, William Lewis CAPLES and Samuel Anderson CAPLES, but I have been unable to track down the branches of this family.
