The James Allen House.

One of the oldest standing homes and residences still in habitation and use is the James Allen home at Bon Secour. The residence was built about 1840 by J. F. Yeend and has been in the Allen family since the late 1850's or early 1860's.

The original house was constructed of logs and has over the years been modernized to keep up with the times and to preserve it from the ruin of Mother Nature's ever dynamic cycles and elements.
